Bright colours and smiling faces abounded as our Foundation students celebrated 100 days of school.
The theme 100 Days Brighter saw students and staff dressed in the brightest possible clothes for a day of fun to mark their first Junior School milestone.
Students prepared ‘100s’ biscuits using vanilla wafers for number 1 and Marie biscuits for the zeros, which they decorated with icing and hundreds and thousands. They also made crowns and art pieces before enjoying a themed disco with party snacks.
The event was a wonderful way to mark an important day in their first school year. The dazzling display of colour ensured everyone had a ball – and stood out during recess and lunch time!
Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 Co-ordinator Deanne Williams says the day combines fun with a recognition that these students are now firmly embedded into the school and their learning program.
“We all enjoy this very special day,” Mrs Williams says. “We had so much fun celebrating all the learning that we have already achieved.
“Everybody across the Foundation level went to great lengths to shine, which added to the atmosphere. Their very creative outfits featured all the colours of the rainbow – and more!”
Our Principal, Leanne Evans, says 100 Days Brighter is an important milestone for our students, their teachers and the school as a whole.
“Marking 100 days of school is a fabulous way to showcase how well the students have settled into their Junior School education, and their ability to adjust to their new environment,” Mrs Evans says.
“Our staff, students and their families do a brilliant job making the event a memorable one.
“All the other year levels enjoy seeing our Foundation students dressed up and happily participating in the planned activities.
“It’s amazing how quickly they have become part of our school community.”
