It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back for Term 3 and to see the school buzzing with energy, enthusiasm and plenty of exciting learning.
One of the highlights has undoubtedly been seeing students finally enjoying our new Collaborative Learning Centre (gym) and the Year 3-6 playground. After watching these spaces take shape over many months, it is fantastic to see them being used exactly as intended. The students are absolutely loving both facilities, whether they are playing sport, training at lunchtime, exploring the playground or simply enjoying having new spaces to be active and imaginative with their friends.
There has already been so much happening across the school. Our Foundation and Year 1 students celebrated their 100th and 101st days of school, Year 2 welcomed some very fluffy new arrivals, and throughout the classrooms, students have been immersed in mathematics, writing, science and integrated learning. It has also been lovely to see our older students demonstrating leadership and confidence through buddy activities and assemblies.
Our specialist programs have also made a terrific start to the term, with the new gym providing exciting opportunities in Health and PE, students exploring dance and three dimensional art, and a group of our Year 6 students preparing to represent Clyde Grammar at the upcoming RoboCup Junior competition.
Carpark Safety
I would like to remind all families of our shared responsibility for keeping students safe during the very busy drop-off and pick-up periods.
We expect all families to follow the school’s car park procedures, including using Kiss and Go only for quick drop-offs and pick-ups, adhering to the 10 km/h speed limit within the school grounds and the 40 km/h limit on Smiths Lane, and using a designated parking bay whenever students need to exit or enter a parked vehicle.
Please remember that disabled parking bays are reserved strictly for vehicles displaying a valid disabled parking permit. We also ask that families respect and follow the directions of staff undertaking crossing duty and reinforce with their children that they should always use the designated green pathways when crossing roads within and around the school grounds.
These expectations are in place for one very important reason – the safety of every child in our community.
