Specialist classes have always been a wonderful highlight of learning in our school, and this Term is no different. From reading and reflection to movement, music, creativity and discovery, students have been building skills and confidence in engaging ways. The moments shared below capture the enthusiasm and collaboration students bring to each lesson.
STEM/ICT

Year 1 students have been exploring the five senses and learning how we use sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch to understand the world around us.
They participated in fun rotation activities for each sense and loved the challenge of making guesses using only one sense at a time. There were lots of giggles and surprises as students worked together and shared their ideas.
Library

“I love the Library because it’s peaceful.” – Adriana, Year 3
“I love the Library because we get to read and I think I am in a different world.” – Tyrone, Year 4
We love fostering a lifelong love of reading and creating a space where every student feels welcome in our library.
Spanish

In Languages, students across Years 2-6 have been focusing on getting to know one another while building confidence in Spanish.
Year 2 students have been practising how to introduce themselves. Year 3 students created self portraits, while Year 4 students revised colour vocabulary.
In Year 5, students explored their likes through movement games and recorded their preferences: Do you prefer lechuga (lettuce), zanahoria (carrot), brócoli (broccoli) or maíz (corn)?
Year 6 students played Cuatro Esquinas (Four Corners) to learn more about each other, including asking, “How many siblings do you have?”
Religion/Values

Our Year 6 students recently completed a vibrant mosaic that represents God’s love revealed through creation. Each section reflects elements of the world around us, including the sun, sky, ocean, rainbow and flowers, alongside symbols of faith. Together, these details remind us of the beauty, diversity and wonder of God’s gifts.
Throughout the process, students demonstrated teamwork, perseverance and patience, along with a strong sense of unity. This artwork is the result of many hands working together and we are incredibly proud of the final outcome.
Performing Arts

Students across Foundation to Year 6 have been learning percussion, Boomwhackers, recorders, glockenspiels and ukuleles in weekly Performing Arts classes.
Throughout the term they have been developing skills in pitch, dynamics, tempo and collaboration as they rehearse and perform together.
Health & PE

Students from Foundation to Year 2 have started the year jumping, hopping, skipping, throwing and catching their way through a range of games and activities.
A focus of these lessons has been following the rules of games and working well with others. Our Year 3-6 students have been busy preparing for the school Athletics Day.
While refining previously learned skills and developing new movements, all students have demonstrated enthusiasm and persistence.
House Athletics Day

On Friday 20 February, our Year 3-6 students travelled to Casey Fields for the Clyde Grammar House Athletics Carnival. We were treated to lovely warm weather, and the energy was high from the first event to the last.
Participation was fantastic across the board, with students giving everything a go and proudly showcasing the skills they’ve been developing in PE. Even more impressive was the encouragement on the sidelines – with positive sportsmanship and house spirit on display all day long.
A big thank you to the parents who came along to support, and to our wonderful staff for their help in making the day run so smoothly.
Visual Art

To begin our creative journey in Visual Art, students have been exploring colour theory.
They have enthusiastically mixed the primary colours to discover how secondary colours are created and applied this new knowledge to their very first art pieces.
In Foundation, students began with a fun watercolour background, experimenting with colour blending techniques before adding a directed drawing of a bug to complete their artwork.
In Year 1, students created a colour wheel bell, carefully arranging the primary and secondary colours to demonstrate their understanding of colour relationships.
In Year 2, students designed a colour wheel flower, creatively applying their knowledge of colour theory in a vibrant and visually engaging way.
It has been wonderful to see students confidently experiment with colour and express their creativity through their artwork.
