Whether experimenting in STEM, creating in Visual Arts, making music in Performing Arts, learning new skills in Physical Education, or exploring language in Spanish, our students continue to show curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
STEM/ICT

Bubble Engineering Challenge
Students in Years 3 and 4 explored the science behind bubbles by investigating surface tension and elasticity – the invisible forces that hold liquid molecules together. Using different solutions made with detergent, sugar, glycerin and glucose syrup, they tested which mixture created the strongest, largest and longest lasting bubbles.
Through experimentation, students discovered how changing a formula can affect flexibility and film strength. It was a wonderful example of real world chemistry in action.

Electricity Investigations
Year 5 students have been exploring electricity and learning how it is a form of energy that helps objects work. Using hands on clip circuit kits, they created closed circuits to power a variety of devices, including flashing lights, spinning fans, doorbells, alarms and functional FM radios.
By connecting components and testing their designs, students discovered how electricity flows through a complete circuit. They were excited to experiment, solve problems and deepen their understanding of the fascinating world of electricity.

Spanish

In Year 5, students had the opportunity to create words using Spanish syllables. It was wonderful to see them play fairly and use images and prior learning to check their answers related to ‘Mi casa’ – My house.
In Year 3, students have been learning about family trees and related Spanish vocabulary. They shared information about their family members and are learning about a family called ‘La familia Pérez’.
Religion/Values

In Religion and Values, students learned about St Valentine and the importance of showing love and kindness to others through simple Valentine’s Day activities.
They also learned about Easter and how Jesus showed love by serving others. Through the story of the Last Supper and Jesus washing His disciples’ feet, students discovered how He cared for others with humility and kindness.
Students showed their understanding by retelling what Jesus did on Holy Thursday and sharing ways they can help and serve others at home, at school and in their community.
Performing Arts

Students across Foundation to Year 6 have been learning to play a variety of classroom instruments in Performing Arts lessons. From percussion and Boomwhackers to recorders, glockenspiels and ukuleles, students have been developing their skills as they rehearse and perform together.
Health & PE

Year 1 students have been busy in Physical Education learning how to skip with a rope. They have shown great determination and enthusiasm as they practise this new skill, with a focus on coordination, timing and persistence. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow each week as they continue to improve their skipping techniques.

Our swimmers also represented Clyde Grammar with pride at the Clyde District Swimming Carnival. Congratulations to Ravnoor, Sahib, Rabab, Emma, Haimie, Nicholas, Daanish, Rhea and Dila for their effort and sportsmanship.

Visual Art

Foundation students created “Flowers in a Meadow” artworks by painting colourful backgrounds, stamping shapes, and adding flowers made from recycled paper and buttons, while developing fine motor skills.
Year 1 students, inspired by garden sunflowers, painted backgrounds and created collage artworks using cut paper, before exploring layered landscapes with tissues paper to show depth and texture.
Year 2 students explored colour value by painting citrus fruits and creating background grids that transitioned from dark to light using tints and complementary colours.
Overall, students showed great enthusiasm and enjoyment, engaging creatively in each stage of the art process.
