Our vision for a vibrant, modern new school with state-of-the-art facilities has inched a step closer!
Staff, students, builders, and guests turned the first sod of Clyde Grammar’s campus in Clyde North last week as we celebrated this major milestone with a breaking ground ceremony.
We were all so excited to be able to step foot and celebrate on the land that will soon be Clyde Grammar’s new home.
The ceremony was celebrated with all our students along with some special guests from Mirvac, the State Government and our governing body CSV Limited.
Clyde Grammar is a much-wanted sister school to Casey Grammar School in Cranbourne and Balcombe Grammar School in Mount Martha, which were also founded by CSV Limited.
With our School motto, ‘challenge, believe, achieve,’ our School will provide a high-quality Prep to Year 12 independent education as the City of Casey’s population continues to grow.
It will eventually house up to 1,200 Prep to Year 12 students, and enrolments have begun in preparation for the campus opening in 2022.
Eleven staff members and 87 Prep and Year 1 students are temporarily located at Casey Grammar and will be among about 144 Prep, Years 1 and 2 students moving in next year when Stage 1 is completed.
This CSV Limited building project is part of Mirvac’s 240-hectare master-planned $1 billion Smiths Lane community.
Some of the special features of our new state-of-the-art School includes:
– A two-storey Primary Centre with 14 primary classrooms
– Seven studio/breakout learning areas
– A common collaborative learning area
– A library
– Student amenities
– Disabled toilets
– First aid bay
– Staff offices
– Reception area
– Outdoor learning and play areas
– Victorian Tram (to be used as a play or learning area for students)
Our students and staff are very excited to move into their modern campus.
It will quickly become a place where we will begin to foster a sense of pride and belonging, and where our students and staff will grow, learn, play and make new discoveries together.
We could not be prouder of how our school has begun.
Smiths Lane will eventually house 6,750 residents, a supermarket, speciality stores, fresh produce, restaurants, key services, a childcare centre, Council community activity centre, adult education facilities and business and co-working spaces.
Our students cannot wait to be in their new home.
Please enjoy the photos below which were taken during the ceremony.
