From the Principal – February 2026

As we move further into Term 1, it is wonderful to reflect on what a positive and energetic start we have enjoyed at Clyde Grammar. Classrooms are buzzing with purposeful learning, playgrounds are filled with laughter and friendship, and our students continue to impress us with their enthusiasm and willingness to embrace new challenges.

The beginning of the school year always brings high expectations and fresh opportunities. It has been particularly pleasing to see how quickly our students have settled into their routines and how confidently they are engaging in their learning. From our youngest Foundation students adjusting to school life, to our eldest students embracing leadership responsibilities, there is a strong sense of optimism and momentum across the school.

I would like to thank our parents and families for the wonderful support you have shown already this term. Your participation in our parent information sessions and parent-teacher interviews has been greatly appreciated. These opportunities to connect and share insights about your child are invaluable. When school and home work collectively, our students benefit enormously.

It was also fantastic to see so many families attending and supporting our Years 3-6 Athletics Carnival. The encouragement from the sidelines, the celebration of effort and teamwork, and the positive spirit throughout the day made the event a tremendous success. Thank you for being part of these important moments in your child’s school life.

There has certainly been a lot happening, and there is still so much to look forward to in the weeks ahead. We are eagerly anticipating our annual Colour Run, which is always a highlight of the term and a wonderful celebration of fun, fitness and community spirit. Harmony Day celebrations are also fast approaching, providing a special opportunity for us to recognise and celebrate the cultural diversity within our school community and to reflect on the values of respect, inclusion and belonging.

One of the major highlights on the horizon is our very first Year 6 Camp to Canberra. Excitement is building as preparations continue, and this experience promises to be both educational and memorable. Camps provide students with opportunities to develop independence, resilience and deeper friendships, and we cannot wait to see our Year 6 students embrace all that this adventure will offer.

Staff News

Over the break, we celebrated several happy milestones in our Clyde Grammar community. Congratulations to Mrs Emily Barrie on the safe arrival of her baby, Stella. We also extend our best wishes to Mr James Pretty who was married over the holidays, and to Miss Georgia Kyne who also married, and is now Mrs D’Alfonso. Welcome back to Ms Laura Papettas, who has returned from maternity leave on a part-time basis. She is delivering Visual Arts classes to our Foundation-Year 2 students.

As always, thank you for your continued partnership and trust. Together, we are building a vibrant, supportive and dynamic learning community. I look forward to sharing many more highlights with you as the year unfolds.

Warm regards,

Leanne Evans
