Specialist Classes

Spanish students have been counting sheep while Health and PE students have been in the pool. Old Testament stories teach young minds the importance of making good choices while tech-savvy students have discovered Canva. Library classes have created elf traps, and our concert performances left a lasting impression.

Library

In Library class, we’ve been diving into the festive fun of How to Catch an Elf! After reading about all the clever elf tricks, we rolled up our sleeves and followed some creative instructions to build our very own elf traps! The trap is set, and the excitement is building. Will we catch our very own elf in the library this week?

STEM/ICT

This term, Year 3 and 4 students have been learning how to use Canva to complete high quality presentations. They have learned how to choose aesthetic templates, take and upload self-portraits, use AI technology, insert photos, format text, apply animations, insert audio and get creative with the draw tool.

Some students have already begun to apply this new knowledge to classroom lessons by choosing to present their Inquiry projects using Canva. This new learning was tackled with a great deal of enthusiasm and was such a joy to witness!

Spanish

In Year 2 we read a bilingual book about many adventurous sheep. What great ideas the students shared about different coloured sheep and how to count them in Spanish.
In Year 3 we used our own sets of emotion cards to verse each other in a friendly game of snap or memory. These boys showed fair play and great support for each other. What a brilliant example of learning collaboratively!
In Year 4 we learnt a song about the New Year and good wishes. We think 2025 will be a great year!

Religion / Values

Students have been exploring the season of Advent and the celebration of Christmas—a holiday that celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ according to the Christian faith. By learning through stories and crafts, their understanding of these traditions has deepened.

Year 3 and 4 students have been creating Christmas cards for the residents of Shanagolden Aged Care in Pakenham. This thoughtful gesture brought smiles and warmth to the elderly, fostering a meaningful connection between our students and the wider community.

Wishing everyone a peaceful and restful break. May we all carry the lessons of love, peace, and joy as we celebrate this special time and look forward to a blessed year ahead.

Health & PE

All year levels are finishing off an action-packed year with the swimming and water safety program at Casey Race.

Students are practicing their swimming skills, gaining confidence and learning how to be safe in and around water.

We have had a fantastic year in Physical Education with students taking part in different games, sports, clinics and events where they have demonstrated great movement as well as social development.

Performing Arts

Our recent concert performances were nothing short of magical! Centred around the vibrant theme of colours, our talented students lit up the stage with their talent and creativity. After weeks of hard work and practice, they delivered breathtaking performances that showcased their growth and passion for the Arts!
