Specialist Classes

Our specialist classes are packed with interesting stories and activities. In Spanish, students have learnt about feelings and numbers while water safety has been a priority in Health & PE. Students have also explored trust and human dignity, dabbled in stop motion creation, and discovered Christmas stories.

Performing Arts

In Performing Arts class, students are buzzing with excitement as they prepare for our upcoming showcase.

This year, we are adding a splash of colour to the stage, with Years 2 and 4 students getting creative by making their own vibrant tie-dye shirts as part of their costumes.

The energy is high, and everyone is eager to perform and bring this colourful production to life. You won’t want to miss this bright and lively performance.

Library

In Library class, we are counting down to Christmas break in a fun and festive way — by unwrapping a good book. Each week, students eagerly unveil the cover of a magical Christmas story to focus on. The excitement is building, and it is inspiring our young readers to explore the library shelves in search of more holiday tales. The joy of discovering new Christmas stories is certainly creating a buzz and some holiday cheer.

STEM/ICT

Stop motion video creations saw the Year 2s super excited to show off their creativity and collaborative skills. Students used a range of equipment and lots of patience to take between 30 to 60 photos while animating their characters by moving them ever so slightly in each frame. The final products proved that, with an active imagination and some technological knowledge, objects can come to life.

Spanish

In Year 3, we read a short story about a Spanish-speaking dinosaur. He had a lot of feelings and his ‘abuela’ or grandmother helped him learn how to manage those. We also enjoyed competing with classmates using an interactive game that helped us learn the names of feelings. Shay and Aken were inspired to create their own short story about Teo.
In Year 2A we have been focusing on numerals. We read the bilingual book La Oruga Muy Hambrienta or The Very Hungry Caterpillar and made connections to numbers and days of the week. We loved the illustrations and vibrant colours.

Religion / Values

For Term 4, our Years 3 and 4 students are learning about human dignity and caring for creation, guided by the Golden Rule of ‘Treat others the way you want to be treated.’

Foundation students enjoyed a lesson — ‘I’m Special’ — through a song and sharing what makes them unique and loved by God. Year 1 students focused on trust in God and patience through the story of Job, and they took part in a trust walk to understand how Job trusted God, even when he did not know what would happen next.

Meanwhile, our Year 2 students practiced empathy through role-play scenarios that encouraged kindness and understanding towards others. We look forward to seeing the children grow in their faith as they deepen their understanding of God’s love.

Health & PE

This term, our Foundation students participated in an exciting water safety incursion and learnt important skills to keep them safe in and around water. They have also been re-visiting the tricky skill of catching, which is an important skill in so many sports. Our Years 1 to 4 students have been honing their cricket skills and enjoyed the fun, teamwork and competition.

Congratulations to our Future Stars Hoop Time team who made it to the regional finals. Also, a special shout-out to Belle who qualified for the regional athletics finals and showcased her dedication and talent in the 1500m and 800m.
