Twits on Stage, Chocolate and Gumboots!

As we approach the end of another fantastic month, I want to express my gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support, enthusiasm and dedication in helping to build our amazing school community. It is hard to believe that we are already a few weeks away from the end of Term 2. Time certainly does fly when you’re having fun!

Dates to Remember

Friday 9 June – Student Free day (report writing day for teaching staff)

Friday 23 June – Year 3 Excursion – The Twits on Stage

Friday 23 June – last day of Term 2, and Semester 1 Student Achievement reports distributed

Chocolate Sales

Members from the PFC will be selling our remaining bags of Cadbury mini Easter eggs at a reduced price. They will be sold for $2.50 a bag (cash-only sales), as their best-before date is June.

A stall will be set up at the front of the school, before classes this Friday, 2 June and also after school on Wednesday, 7 June.

Cold Weather

When it rains during playtimes, the children remain indoors. On days when the ground is wet underfoot, we encourage the students who like to play and explore on the grassed areas to bring a pair of gumboots to school. The boots must be named and will remain at school until the weather improves. Gumboots are not appropriate footwear for students who play ball sports during playtimes, as they must wear their school shoes or runners.

Second Hand Book Donations

I have had some recent enquiries from parents wondering if we would like second-hand books for our classrooms and library – the answer is yes!

If you are looking for a new home for any books that are in very good condition, please bring them to Donna at reception.

COVID-19 Testing

Due to the increased rate of student illness, we are encouraging all families to test their children if they present with any covid or flu-like symptoms. If your child does test positive, we would like you to inform the school and keep your child home for five days or until a negative result is recorded. If you need any more RAT kits, please ask at reception or place a note in the student diary.

Thank you for helping to keep our school community safe and healthy.

Leanne Evans,

Principal
