Specialist Classes

Our Specialist Classes are an opportunity for students to explore everything from the Performing Arts to PE. This term, Year 2 students have been rocking and rolling, and hand jiving while Year 4 students have been building their coding and robotics skills. Spanish students have explored the language of colour while stories from the Old Testament are illustrating important life values. Discovering the magic of reading and some new sporting skills have also kept students busy this term.

Performing Arts

This term, our Year 2 students are taking a groovy journey through the decades in Performing Arts. They kicked things off with a dive into the 1950s, exploring the energetic world of rock and roll. The highlight? Learning and performing the classic Hand Jive with a partner. Their enthusiasm and moves are truly rockin’!

Library

Our Year 1 students are discovering that Reading is Magic in the library. As they prepared for Book Week, they dived into enchanting stories filled with spells, wizards and magical creatures. Each tale sparked their imaginations and brought the magic of reading to life. We are excited to see their enthusiasm grow as they explore these magical worlds and celebrate the joy of books.

STEM/ICT

Our Year 4 students have been learning robotics and coding skills while participating in the Sphero Mini Olympics. Here we see teams enjoying a very competitive game of soccer.

Spanish

In Year 2 Spanish lessons we have played some inside and outside colour games and read a colour facts book. Here are some Grade 2 students using toy cars to show they can match, say and write words for colours like azul (blue) and verde (green).

Religion / Values

This term, Year 4 students are exploring different religions and their traditions. They are reading stories from the Old Testament and working in groups to act them out. They are learning about God’s power from the Creation story and making good choices from Adam and Eve’s story. They are also discovering obedience and faith from Noah’s Ark, and humility and teamwork from the Tower of Babel. These activities are helping them understand important values and lessons.

Health & PE

To begin Term 3, the Foundation students have been practising so they can be like their favourite soccer players, Ronaldo and Messi. The students have enjoyed running, kicking and, most importantly, celebrating their goals.

Years 1 to 3 students are taking part in a four-week AFL clinic run by AFL Victoria. They are developing their kicking, catching and handballing skills during some exciting games and challenges.

Years 3 and 4 sport has got off to an exciting start with new sports including AFL, hockey, newcombe ball and netball. The enthusiasm and sportsmanship have been a highlight so far. Years 3 and 4 students have also been lucky enough to test our brand new high-jump equipment  purchased with funds from our Colour Run Fundraiser. They have been learning how to safely execute the ‘scissor’ jump.
